What will Brain Chemistry Balancing do for my child?

The old idea that we are all wired differently is actually true when it comes to brain chemistry.

Normal chemical changes affect how the brain functions. When your neurotransmitters, such as serotonin, and norepinephrine, are properly balanced, scientific research reveals that it can have a positive effect on every aspect of your life and relationships, from sleep cycles to how we respond to stress, from self-esteem to feeling connected and more.

Genetics, stress, nutrition, early childhood experiences, traumas, neglect, and abuse all play a part in our neurotransmitter makeup. Neurotransmitters fall into two categories, inhibitory (serotonin for calming & well-being) and excitatory (epinephrine, for drive). Ideally, they should be balanced. However, due to many of the reasons mentioned above, the neurotransmitters of many children (and adults) are not. When the excitatory side is too high, issues like disrupted sleep, and meltdowns, tend to occur. It is difficult to correct these tendencies with behavior methods alone. Even with the best intentions, due to his brain chemistry profile, the child will not be able to change his behavior; it may be beyond his capacity.
